True 24-Hour Service with No Call Out Charge

We see this as our key service differentiator. So many so-called 24-hour services are really nothing more than an automated call answering service outside of standard working hours. This is not the approach we use. When you call us, no matter what time of the day or night, you will speak to a real, live person.

When we say we don’t have a call out charge, we mean it. There is zero charge when we visit your home or workplace. If we find that there really is nothing we can do for you, we will not suddenly come up with a surcharge for a wasted call out. No service charge means no service charge full stop.

Building Key Cutting Explained

When you think about key cutting, you probably visualise somebody standing behind a complex looking machine, grinding down a key blank to copy your old Yale front door key. And while we do still cut keys in this fashion, copying modern keys is a far more complicated process.

Some keys cannot be copied using a machine; we have to use elbow grease to manually shape them. This is a delicate process, one mistake and the copy won’t work.

Security keys and restricted keys offer their own challenges. These keys are designed so that they are very hard to copy. Of course, they do need to be copied, and we use a range of methods to do this for you.

Vehicle Key Cutting Explained

In the same way that cutting building keys has changed over the years, the same is true for car and vehicle keys. These days, the key fob is generally part of the vehicle security system, not just the key. When a fob is broken, or lost, then the vehicle cannot be unlocked.

Although we do still copy the old type of car keys, these days we often have to replace locks and provide a new key fob, to enable the customer to use their vehicles inbuilt security system. In some cases, we will be able to repair a fob, or even order a direct replacement from the vehicle manufacturer, leaving the old locks in place.

UPVC Door and Window Locks Explained

UPVC is a good choice of material for door and window frames. It is inexpensive, durable, and looks good. It does have one disadvantage though. It isn’t as simple to fit a strong lock in a thin UPVC frame, as it is in a thick, solid wooden one. Put simply; we need to use special locks for UPVC doors and windows.

Fitting new locks to UPVC frames can be a delicate operation, especially with older doors and windows. Sometimes the UPVC becomes brittle due to the effects of ultraviolet radiation from the Sun. When we are called on to replace or upgrade locks in UPVC frames, we always take care not to damage the frame. We can also perform repairs on UPVC frames if a lock has damaged them.

Emergency Access Explained

If you have locked yourself out of a building, gaining emergency access can be difficult. Even just 20 years ago, gaining access was fairly simple. The lock could be picked, or entry could be forced through a suitable entrance point, such as a side window.

However, modern locks are much harder to pick. Add to this the fact that many buildings now have an alarm system, and the prospect of forcing entry becomes a challenge.

We use a combination of tried and tested methods, and advanced lockpicking techniques, to attempt to gain access to the building you are locked out from. In severe cases, we may need to force entry and then replace your locks.
